This Impulse Response file is based on a 6-string acoustic violin. The aim is to focus on the full frequencies of specific bowed string instruments using more than 4 strings. There exists on the market some 6-string violins, 6-string violas, and 5-string cellos, and even 6-string cellos. For 5-string violins and 5-string violas, we recommend using our 5-string violin impulse response file. Most of the time, these musical instruments using 6 strings are electric. This Impulse Response file covers the cello, viola, and violin audio spectrum. It can be used with 7-string violins, but keep in mind that the B flat string is not completely covered.
